Drug Eluting Stents

Using an in vivo model of restenosis that involves balloon angioplasty in coronary arteries of anaesthetised pigs, we have found that restenosis can be prevented by local administration of our novel, proprietary compound at the time of the angioplasty, with no harmful effects on endothelial properties.

  • Prevention of restenosis in artery stents
  • Designed for diabetic and high-risk patients
  • Novel anti-proliferative mechanism
  • No detrimental effects on endothelial function or artery contractility
  • Enhanced efficacy and reduced toxicity compared with competitor compounds
  • Granted patents covering compound and method of use

A VAN 10-4 drug-eluting stent has been remarkably effective in some trials and at present we are optimizing the drug release characteristics. The use of VAN 10-4 on a drug-eluting stent holds great promise as a superior stent for high risk patients.

We are seeking a commercial partner to accelerate the development of this promising compound in a drug-eluting stent. Please complete the electronic reply form for further information.
